612mtb Parents: We need your help in St. Cloud next weekend!

5 Sep 2024 by Nate Hines

Hello Again 612mtb parents:

Please read this note, and then TAKE ACTION by signing up to volunteer at the Jail Trail Race, September 14 &15.

(Here’s the short version:)

To Volunteer with the Team
, go to the Race 3 Jail Trail entry in the TeamApp Calendar, and assign yourself a task under the “Duty Roster.”

To Volunteer with the MCA
: go to the MCA’s volunteer page, and select one of the many volunteer opportunities. We’re the largest team in the MCA, let’s be the helpingest!

(Here’s the longer, more persuasive version:)

Thank you to all of the parents that volunteered with the team and with MCA at Brophy!

Your coaches and team leaders (volunteers all) are so grateful for the help that they got at the first race in Alexandria. By all accounts, it was a great race, with great results for our racers, and a good time had by all. WE CANNOT HAVE A SUCCESSFUL RACE WITHOUT PARENT SUPPORT, so thank you!

Now that the first race is in the books, and everyone is familiar with the Race Day routine, we’re hopeful that more of you will volunteer some of your time at the races to help out our coaches with setup, tent duty, and packing up at the end of the day.  It’s also important to help with the MCA wherever you can —races cannot go on without volunteers.

I want to commend the Middle School parents that filled 17 of the 18 available slots in the Team’s Duty Roster. Great work MS parents (special shout out to Ani Meiser and Anne Baird who each took multiple slots!)!  Let’s keep it up for the rest of the season!

High School parents took on 9 of the 22 Duty Roster slots available. Thanks to everyone that took the initiative to help out! We need more hands on Sunday Race Days. We’ve decided to eliminate the Team Grill Master role, and are asking High School parents to sign up for the other tasks needed to help make the day run more smoothly.  I promise: it is low impact on you, and a big help to the Team.

Here is a link to detailed information for High School Parents about each of the tasks, and suggestions for which slots might line up with your day, depending on when your rider is racing. Parents are never expected to volunteer while their rider is on the race course, and we hope that you will take time to support the Team while you are there for your rider.

Thank you Parents, for all you do to help the team, not just by volunteering, but by bringing your riders to practice and races, on time and ready to ride. Please consider volunteering with the Team or with MCA. With a race at Theo Wirth coming up, it will be critical that 612mtb provide additional support to MCA on our home course! Let’s use next weekend to get our “helping out chops” up!

If you have any questions or feedback, you can always contact me at natehines@gmail.com.

Until then. . .

Ride Fast!
